Crazy Cat Bakers is crazy good

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Highland Village in Jackson is Crazy Cat Bakers. This quaint cafe offers lunch Monday - Saturday as well as a wide selection of made from scratch desserts.

Lunch offerings consist of a variety of paninis, salads, and daily specials. Panini choices include meatloaf, rotisserie chicken, roasted red bell pepper, caramelized onion BLT, and more.

The Big Salad caught my attention with the lure of caramelized onions. Also topping the romaine greens were turkey, ham, parmesan cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, and roasted red bell peppers. Sweet Onion Vinaigrette was the perfect companion to this beautifully arranged salad.

Of course, my initial draw to Crazy Cat was the word bakers. Desserts are beautifully displayed on the counter and selections vary daily. Their menu of desserts can be ordered whole for carry out. Choices include layered cakes, pound cakes, pies, cheesecakes, and bread pudding with brandy butter sauce. Tantalizing flavors include Fudge Pecan Cake, Toffee Crunch Coffee Cake, Chocolate Chip Bourbon Pecan Pie, Amaretto Cheesecake, and Turtle Cheesecake, to name a few.

I had a tough time deciding which dessert to order, and finally settled on the chocolate cake. The moist and fudgy cake was topped with a thick, creamy layer of fudge icing. It was a chocolate lover's paradise.

I'm not a big sweet potato eater, but they had the most beautiful pie I've ever laid eyes on. Aptly named Lord Have Mercy Sweet Potato Pie, it was so pretty that I was tempted to try it. Maybe next time, because there will be a next time. (I forgot to take a picture before I left.)

So, when you're on the prowl in Jackson for a quick bite and something sweet, stop by Crazy Cat Bakers. You will leave there purring for more.
Thought this was cute. Entrance to the restroom.
